So how's my Christmas shopping so far? I'm almost done but along the way I managed to get something for myself every now and then that made me spend OVER my budget! There goes my "one for them and one for me" thing again..
What Do I Want For Christmas?
1. I Don't Want to MAX OUT MY SAVINGS but BUY EVERYONE THAT MATTERS A GIFT.
2. I want to save up - but its not entirely possible
3. I want to gain weight, have enough sleep - where can I buy that?
4. I want to be unconditionally and irrevocably - err mush!
I will continue my list ASAP

On last sunday's win against Purefoods Giants, Jayjay Helterbrand stepped up big time on the final quarter. Tonight, against the Realtors, Sunday Salvacion finished with 22 points, scattered on the first and last quarters.
Kudos on Paul Artadi who have been an efficient guard and pesky defender to other team's guards, SLR's Mendoza and Miranda both committed a flagrant foul.

I'll try to come up with an unbiased album review, as soon as I can. Ugh, I'm not sure about the unbiased part.
By the way, I love the album layout, me thinks David is somehow involved in this. Just a hunch since I've read that he's a graphics artist before the life on the Moon started =)

We went in two hours early to get a better spot. I guess this goes for the entire open field, it was packed, SRO, its hot. Great decision on wearing flats.
Generally, I enjoyed the concert proper (let's not get into the before and after concert part). The concert started on time, 8 pm, some intro then Chris Brown performed first.
Chris Brown is a superb performer, he makes up on his paos voice through his energy filled dance moves. My favorite parts are when he sang Never A Right Time to Say Goodbye, Forever and With You.
Good set for Rihanna, and great thing that during her performace she was elevated or on the stairs. At least I got to watch her on stage rather than on the projector, which I entirely did on Chris Brown's part. Rihanna said "I didn't expect this crowd to be this quiet, I can't hear you! * crowd screams a bit. "I can't, f*cking hear you!" LMAO. Rihanna have great song, great voice, good interaction with the crowd and she's charming. I found myself quiet, listening to her sing and do her stuff.
In the Silver area, our crowd is mostly composed of fashionistas clad in backless tops and high heeled shoes. I felt overdressed LMAO. I had fun listening to gays who knew all Riri's songs by heart - she's such a gay icon.
I don't know if I would want to watch a concert on an open field concert, for now. I'm still suffering from body and foot ache.

Wow, I've been waiting for the Hana Kimi special for a long time that I almost forgot about it. Then I've seen a heads up from a forum that its finally out. It took me almost one day for the whole thing to load and I got to watch it online last saturday. Yey!
Hana Kimi Special episode, is 1 hour and 49 minutes of hilarious antics from the boys and Ashiya. It started on Osaka Gakuen's Valentines day event where Sano and Nakatsu reflect on the final week of their last summer vacation. This is actually refered as episode 7.5. Nakatsu (I heart Toma Ikuta!) was trying to figure out when Sano (Oguri Shun) fell in love with Ashiya (Maki Horikita). This episode also includes the graduation scene and solidify the love relationship between Mizuki and Sano.
Well what can I say? My sister and I was just laughing all the way until the ending. I miss Hana Kimi!
My favorite scenes aka Hana Kimi Special spoilers (read at your own risk)
- I love Nakatsu's monologues plus they even segue Toma Ikuta's new role in Mauo - detective Nakatsu.
- A new character was introduced, Julia, Mizuki's childhood friend who wants to take her back to America and ended up playing as her girlfriend to the shock of Nakatsu but no threat for Sano.
-Its hilarious how Julia crawled in Nakatsu's bed.
- It also highlighted Nakatsu's bad relationship with her mother who don't believe that he can be a professional football player because he never finishes what he started.
-This also feature an arranged marriage for the dogs lol
- Sano & Kagurazaka's confrontation after the "kiss"
- Sano's singing scene when he found out he's in love. "Love me tender, love me sweet" LMAO
- Mizuki drowns
- Crazy Soccer game for Nakatsu
- Graduation ceremony - too long
Great thing Nakatsu's character have a lot of highlight, he might not end up with Ashiya Mizuki as I wanted to but at least he had all those funny parts. His character is vital to this whole Hana Kimi series, it makes up for few annoying parts by Sano and Mizuki. I know they're the lead characters lol but I'm for team Nakatsu!

I love watching and drooling over cooking/baking shows at Lifestyle channel or on local shows on QTV like Chef Rob's and True Confections.
We headed to Seattle's best and I'm skipping caffeine these days so I opted for my strawberry milkshake and oatmeal cookie. These desserts certainly looks and tastes good.

Jayjay Helterbrand started cold but finished strong with 28 big points, 4 assists and 2 steals. In the crucial fourth quarter he took over the game by socring pivotal and acrobatic shots, making up for firepower usually provided by injured Mark Caguioa and Junthy Valenzuela. At last the kings finished strong, unlike on their previous games against Red Bull Barakos and Rain or Shine where they collapsed on the end game.
Pacana had a good 1st quarter, scoring against almost everyone. Alex Crisano got Asi Taulava commit 3 personal fouls in the first half. Both look animated throughout the game to the delight of the crowd.
I hope Ginebra can continue to win ballgames to keep up with everyone in the team standings even with the depleted line up, its sweeter to win through Never Say Die attitude against all beefed up teams. *cough

The only positive thing that came out of that is I was inspired to blog about my pet peeves – things, people that annoys or frustrates me.
1.People talking at the movies or concerts
2.People complaining that its noisy at basketball games/concerts
3.Crying bratty kids
4.People talking really loud on their cell phones right next to me...My mother lol
5.Aggressive motorcycle drivers
6.Government office that holds my phone call FOREVER!
7.People that takes the photo at NBI clearance that don't give any notice or signal
8.People smoking and blowing it directly to me – note most of my friends smoke.
9.People who talk too much crap
10.People who cut in line
11.People who are late and not sorry about it
12.People who text a lot while you're with them. Bad effects of technology.
14.People who think they know everything - Done it all & tells you about it.
16.Men who say they will call....then don't.
17.Corrupt MMDA officers that stops the bus I'm riding on a daily basis
19. People who leave irrelevant links on my guestbooks.
20. People who say harsh things for the sake of being a B and expects you to respect it because its their opinion.
So far its a great day! =)

I received an email from LapDanceTechGear.com that they have branch at Trinoma, specifically at the First Floor of the Mindanao Avenue Wing, near National Bookstore.
I visit the site and this Caren style that comes in limited edition pink is my favorite! Its great that finally there's a local store that offers fab laptop bags. This particular bag is actually made from Manmade Calf / Manmade Crocodile Leather combination but the selling point for me is it was designed like a ladies Tote Bag. Its not like my other bags that are screaming "hey I brought a laptop with me!"
It costs P2,595.00 so I have to save up for this =( And another problem is it only comes in 12 - 13 in. I have a 14 inch ASUS.
I still have to check out the product at Trinoma and ask around.

I'm now wondering is having goosebumps often, harmful? Because I've been listening to the 15 tracks of Eraserheads reunion concert album and I can't help but feel cold. Ely Buendia described the album in his mailing list message as "it was like capturing lightning in a bottle" or something to that effect.
Relive Aug 30, 2008 when certainly stars & miracles fell down in heaven. =)

And it is.
So I found myself going back and forth to National Bookstores & Powerbooks branches but the paperback version of Stephanie Meyer's Twilight is sold out! I found it ironic that I had to sign up for book reservation while weeks ago, the apple book was lying on those bookshelves flashing the apple to get my attention.
When I accompanied my sister at Trinoma last Wednesday, I thought of dropping by at National to see if a Twilight paperback is finally available. To my delight, there's a pile of it in the corner shelf, but its the movie version, no more apple. Another good thing is its discounted, it costs me 215 pesos.
A hard to find item, check!

I bought my iPod Classic last Dec 30, 2008 and now after 10 months I finally made the switch and bought a 16gb iPod Touch. Actually, during that time the 1st generation of iPod touch was already released but it only comes in 8gb so I opted to buy the 80 gb iPod video.
Since I already have a wifi access at home, I decided that its convenient to finally switch from classic to touch. And I'm loving it!
The touch screen functionality, wifi (thus internet access), bigger screen for watching videos & gaming compensates to limited memory- compared to 80gb. And it will limit the skip in playlist because I had to really choose the songs, although 14.5 gb is still 14.5 gb.
Buying an iPod touch will not end the expenses because I had to buy a leather case, silicon and avail for a Gmask service.
I'm still in the getting to know my gadget phase and I'll have to test how long the battery will last.

I wish Mark Caguioa can get better and heal his injuries ASAP. These days I can see MC daily because of the Top Power posters plastered in our area.
It's still early in the season and I believe in coach Jong's coaching style but it wouldn't hurt if Mark will be back ASAP. I miss his tandem with Helterbrand.

In the Taiwanese show that started it all - Meteor Garden. I really love Shan Cai to end up with Hua Ze Lei instead of Dao Ming Si. They have this great chemistry, plus Shan Cai's first love interest was Lei. Anyway her love story with Asi is really cute too before MG 2 were it was all sappy and messed up. Amnesia sucks!
In Why Why Love, Tong Jia Di should end up with Huo Yuan instead of Huo Da since Huo Da really liked the other girl from the start and Jia Di likes the manager.
On Japanese series
Ashiya should've ended up with Nakatsu instead of Sano in Hana Kimi(Japan). Nakatsu is too funny and he even really loved her even while knowing he's a boy.
In Hana Yori Dango, Makino and Rui should've ended together instead of Tsukasa. They're a cute couple. Matsumoto can end up with me.lol. Seriously Lei and Rui's character deserves Shan Cai & Makino. But the sad thing is they both missed their chance and ended up alone in both adaptation.
Korean series - Eun Hye's series
Eun Chan and Han Seong instead of Han Kyul in Coffee Prince. Han Seong treated her well and they have those sweet but not cheesy moments with their dog.
In Princess Hours, Chae gyung and Yul instead of Shin because I wanted Yul for myself. Seriously Chae Cyung have suffered so much because of Shin, I just want him to realize how he loves her then snatch her away from Yul. Yul's character is cool in the start of the series but ended up annoying.
That's my rant but I love it all just the same.

I've been through tough money times when I'll just have 100 or 200 pesos on the day before the salary comes. That could've happened 4-5 times especially during the time that I have 2 credit card bills to pay. I finally came to a realization that this could not be happening since
A. I live with my parents
B. I get to keep my whole salary, I only chip in for broadband bill, which is a luxury
C. I'll end up empty handed when I suddenly get fired or something
D. My parents expect me to have a FAT bank account since they don't meddle with my money
Then I thought , where have I spent my money?
After graduating college, I opened a bank account and saved the money my parents gave me for my birthday but I ended up maxing it all. I didn't went to a shopping spree but I used it while job hunting and to survive 3 months of low paying but enjoyable training.
When I transferred to another company, my first six months is a drought. I have to contribute monthly for the car and automatic savings that I'll get after resignation – with night outs in between. By June 07, I have credit card bill for the laptop that I purchased, thank goodness my parents helped me in paying for it. By October 07, I got myself another monthly bill for my braces & broadband service. By January 2008, 2 months before I finish paying for my laptop, I got another credit card bill for my iPod. By July I finished my credit card obligations leaving me with broadband service, braces, cellphone postpaid monthly bills.
Another reason why I can't save up much is my attitude. I have the tendency to shop for little things every now and then, mostly on food, trips to salon, gimik expenses toiletries, clothes, shoes or bags. If I'll add up my daily little expenses, i could say that I splurge at least 3 grand a month on random things. It doesn't help that I had to pass Galleria or Megamall to reach my bus stop.
Then I though I should stop and save up for bigger things and uh the future. Skipping my frappe, eating lunch at home can really save me money in the long run. I want a proper balance because I don't want to deprive myself NOW for a better FUTURE. There should be a thin line that I have to avoid crossing to have a hefty savings and a pretty good lifestyle.
On the 24th month that I'm working, technically 27th but I don't count my 3 months web designer stint, I finally came into my senses and opened a new bank account.
I started REALLY saving up on August but I ended up using it for all the expenses for getting my passport. For September I saved enough for my supposedly first trip abroad but I canceled it thinking that I don't like the thought hat I'll be able to do that, splurge abroad and be broke afterwards.

Sometimes I tend to zone out myself from the surroundings, taking time to notice everything. I live a busy life with all my to do list, schedule, work, books to read, family and friends get together, basketball games or TV series to watch. Busy people like me have a tendency to do things by schedule and just realize the days or months that have passed by without getting to do what we wanted to do. We are not robots so its not a sin to breathe and notice what a lovely weather it is, scan the sea of faces as we cross the street or to simply smile to people around us.
Being monotonous and acting by a schedule is like sleepwalking through the day. I see life as a journey and every day makes up this journey so it wouldn't hurt to indulge in little delights around us and the road that we take.
It doesn't have tro be a big drastic change, it could be as simple as changing your routine to go to work, trying out different foods or ordering a different coffee
Take time today and stop and smell your frappe.

Coach Jong Uichico's strategy is to keep the game close and try to steal the game on the final stretch. Ginebra is playing with all heart and under a coach with a good game plan. His men followed that to a tee as the kings managed to keep within striking distance to Air21 then with three minutes remaining, Cabatu shot 2 three pointers then Tubid added another three to extend their lead to 11. They also maintained pretty good defense to limit Air21 to scoring only 2 points in the remaining 3 minutes of the game.
The best player of the game is Junjun Cabatu, who had a career high of 23 points. Basically its a team effort, Helterbrand started and finished the game hot, key contributions from Artadi, Tubid, Valenzuela, Crisano, Pacana who all chipped in for offensive contributions.
The final score is 101-92. Its fun to watch the kings without any pressure^.^
PBA games of course!

Isabella "Bella" Swan moves from sunny Phoenix, Arizona to rainy Forks, Washington to live with her father, Charlie. She chooses to do this so that her mother, Renée, can travel with her new husband, Phil Dwyer, who is a minor league baseball player. In Phoenix she was a bit of an outcast, so it surprises her that she attracts much attention at her new school and is quickly befriended by several students. Much to her dismay, several boys in the school, namely Mike Newton and Eric Yorkie, compete for shy Bella's attention.
When Bella sits next to Edward Cullen in class on her first day of school, Edward seems utterly repulsed by her. He even attempts to change his schedule to avoid her,
leaving Bella completely puzzled about his attitude towards her. After tricking a family friend, Jacob Black of the Quileute tribe, into telling her the local tribal legends, Bella concludes that Edward and his family are vampires. Although she was inexplicably attracted to him even when she thought Edward drank human blood, she is much relieved to learn that the Cullens choose to abstain from drinking human blood, and drink animal blood instead. Over time, Edward and Bella fall in love. Their foremost problem is that to Edward, Bella's scent is a hundred times more potent than any other human's, making Edward struggle to resist his desire to kill her. However, despite this, Edward and Bella manage to stay together safely for a time.
The seemingly perfect state of their relationship is thrown into chaos when another vampire coven sweeps into Forks and James, a tracker vampire, decides that he wants to hunt Bella for sport. The Cullens plan to distract the tracker by splitting up Bella and Edward, and Bella is sent to hide in a hotel in Phoenix. Bella then gets a
phone call from James in which he says that he has her mother, and Bella is forced to give herself up to James at her old dance studio, where he attacks her. Edward, along with the rest of the Cullen family, rescue Bella before James can kill her. Once they realize that James has bitten Bella's hand, Edward sucks the venom out of her system before it can spread and change her into a vampire. Upon returning to Forks, Bella and Edward attend their prom and Bella expresses her desire to become a vampire, which Edward refuses to let happen.
My thoughts about Stephanie Meyer's Twilight
Reading Twilight feels like reading chick lits or those romance novels but the twist is a vampire is the male lead (Edward Cullen) while Bella Swan, the female lead is not a damsel in distress. I say this in a positive note and I can almost say that it breaks genres, I guess teenagers and the young at hearts (adults) can embrace this book.
Twilight is long but it made me excited to finish it in two sitting - by chapter 20 I realized I need to sleep because I am not like the Cullens.
The story is told from Bella's perspective so all the characters were described based on how she felt on understood them. Maybe I should rephrase my description of Bella that she is not a damsel in distress type because she's an accident magnet, but she's not a goody two shoes type. She has a lot of excess baggage, she felt different and independent because of her family background. Its interetsing how she described everyone around her.
Twilight is told in a simple way, what made it complex is the characters who got involved with Bella. Her romance with Edward is funny and sad at the same time, its funny how they fight but sad how they can't just date like other teenagers yet they wont give up on their relationship. Then because of complications of dashing Edward being a vampire, the story revolved on saving Bella's threatened life.
Twilight gives me a different excitement in every flip of the page, wondering what's next to unfold. This november a film adaptation will come out and I hope they'll give justice to what I've imagined of Bella, Edward, Charlie, the Cullens and the whole Forks.

Nobody expected them to win against a solid and complete Sta Lucia Realtors - I'm guilty of this too but they showed their trademark Never Say Die attitude. I was thinking they'll have a slow start in first round of KFC All Filipino cup since they have a lot of injured main players in
Caguioa, Reavis (both still recuperating in the US) and Valenzuela. Plus they haven't got any major movements in the line up, the only addition in the king's roster is Jun Jun Cabatu and reactivated Mike Holper.
The final score is 89 - 86, a come from behind win by Ginebra with Paul Artadi named as best player of the game.
Good start! I miss Chris Alexander but I'm happy for him since he recently signed a 2 year contract with Oklahoma=)

Twilight is based on the story of seventeen-year-old Isabella Swan who fell in love with a brooding vampire Edward Cullen.
I got myself a copy of the book and I'll start reading it later. I'm not really into bandwagon, haven't read any of the HP books but I'm interested in this series. Although I've heard comments from guys and girls that its cheesy. That's for me to find out.

Good thing they kept the opening ceremony - even the speeches by commissioner & governor - short and sweet. Makisig Morales as the host is too cute, you'll just smile and forgive his misread spiel.
I always look forward on the customary parade of teams, its a chance to see their lineups after a grueling season break acquisitions, wondering how the old reliables will blend with new recruits. I bet guys look forward more on seeing the muses - Coke's muse Pokwang with a big tansan as head dress & Ruffa Mae Quinto as Snow White with seven dwarves stole the show from Brazilian models. For second straight season, Iwa Moto is Ginebra's muse, maybe because she's proactive. I've seen her watching the games live and was even present on the victory party – which I failed to attend because I don't have any stub :( and that's another blog entry
The first game was between Talk & Text & Coca Cola
Its always fun to watch the improved Asi go against his former team. TNT paraded their 6 recruits, the 2 rookies that I remember are Dilinger and Castro. Dilinger is a great fit to the 4 position left by Jay Washington who was traded to SMB. Castro is a great backup pointguard to Alapag.
TNT won the game via a technical FT and Asi missing to release the shot seconds earlier. It was funny how Cardona & Asi were scoffing if the shot should be counted.
Solomon overshadows Norwood
I can't see why they say Solomon and Mercado are Welcoat's version of Ginebra's Fast & the Furious tandem they should be compared to SLR's Williams & Reyes tandem. Norwood is a forward, with playing style that can be compared to Arwind Santos. Anyway they are an exciting guard – forward duo to watch out for. I'm really impressed with Solomon Mercado who scored 19 of 29 points in the first half. No wonder Welcoat, now Rain or Shine, moved mountains (read: last year's number 1 pick Joe de Vance shipped to Alaska) to get him. He was dubbed as a player in Mark Caguioa's prototype - meaning explosive player, scoring machine, can and will take over a game at will. I'm looking forward to their match up but I hope MC47 is healed by that time, he's still undergoing therapy for his injuries. Anyway, I do hope Solomon is no one game wonder – Cabagnot was also compared to MC in his rookie year but to no avail.
Meanwhile Norwood, 2008 #1 draft pick didn't show anything spectacular, maybe that's his game laid back but effective.
It was an intense game with 3 players from Air21, Santos, Arboleda & Homer Se thrown out of the game. Rain or Shine started the Philippine Cup with an impressive win or Air 21.
As for my favorite team, I'm not expecting much in the early round since most players are injured again. Here's Ginebra's game schedule:

Ginebra Kings just held their victory party last friday, too bad my friend and I don't have the stub/entrance pass.
I'm little bit of worried about their line up, too many injured main players and they badly need a big man a 4 or 5. Every other team have beefed up their line up except the kings! But that was also the case last season, but they still ended up as the champions! BGK's line up is solid just as long as everyone stays healthy!

I'll write my album review soon, I'll try to be unbiased as possible & I'll post the picture that I secretly took at Oddesey :P
A drained iPod battery later (Wednesday, Sept 24)
Here's my thoughts about the Sponge Cola's self titled third album. This was released last Saturday and by Monday I bought it!
The album opens with “Ayt!” with a line “I dilat ang iyong mga mata”. The song encourages positivity and my gut tells me that this is entitled “Ayt” because the band wants us to agree and respond to their challenge.
“Puso” is the first single off the album. I've heard it first on UAAP basketball opening and closing billboards. “Dehado..Wag ka sanang magkakamaling sumuko na lang” I know its Yael. The band have produced a lot of inspirational-hero-themed-OST like songs in Boundless, Bitiw, Tuloy pa rin and now Puso.
The signature catchy pop rock vibe is present on Filipino tracks like “Wala kang katulad” & “Makapiling ka”. I easily embraced both songs and found myself singing along on second round of Sponge Cola playlist. I can't help to sing Yael's part and the back up vocals for the later.
I get my head bumping in the tune of “Step back” while “All the Time” is still growing into me. Me thinks that Chris indicated in his contract that in every album he needs to have 1 song that's all him -music, words and everything. In the tradition of Jillian, Myself in You – now comes “In another life”
In terms of variety, the album have something to offer, “Di na mababawi” is an acoustic track – a calm song yet the message is full of cold words to a lost lover (Who hurt you Gosh? :P) . While "G.K.T" is a wacky song featuring Jomal of Kamikaze. This is a pleasant surprise for all the K.L.S.P.
A potential single is “Lights” with a bouncy tune and ironic line “Close your eyes..to see the light”.
The track “Meteor Shower”, for some unknown reason reminds me of Ely Buendia's Wanted bedspacer. I don't know why, how, when, where.
They also included old songs from 2003 EP, “A tear” & “Saturn”, that sounded so much better because of better production. I guess this is part of Yael Yuzon's unrequited love songs series.
The 14th & final track is “Keep the Fire Burning”. I almost cracked up when I heard the second voice “Nasaan ka man” but I like the to-doo-doo chant. The song started slow but ended with a bang and on a positive note.
Sponge Cola's third album is solid, in terms of production value, musicality – I'm speaking as a fan who supports the band for years now & have seen their growth. They've come a long way from “Palabas”, (third year college) their first try, was recorded on Yael's room with raw sound and talent - a good(songs) & bad(production) thing. Their sophomore album “Transit” (graduated from college) represents movement in terms of the direction of their music and the band. Now the third album (2 years working) is self titled, which means that this is the music that represents them?! By the way, the album packaging gets thinner and thinner BUT I'll vouch that it's inversely proportional to the album quality!

Watch Platonic Sex's movie online trailer
"Thank you for being born" - Toshi to Ai
Platonic Sex or Puratonikku sekkusu is a Japanese movie shown in 2001 based on the true to life story of Ai Iijima, played by Saki Kagami. If the whole movie was based on her life, I feel for her. A part of me wants to believe that most parts are just exxagerations or for the sake of adding artistic value. The film is based on Ai's best selling novel “Platonic Sex” where she shared her young life where she suffers one terrible ordeal to another. Ai is a strong woman but from time to time, she feels the urge to end her existence.
Ai was on the verge of a suicide when she recieved a text message from Toshi (Joe Odagiri), who is sending a birthday message to his dead sister. Though the text message was meant for someone else, Ai can relate to the message. It gave her a sense of hope and decided to give her life another chance.
Ai's life started the downhill when she was gang-raped by her "friends" on her 17th birthday but instead of getting sympathy from her family, they only cared on what the neighbors think. She decided to leave home and live in the street where she was spoted to be a club girl. She started earning money but she was in debt when she developed designer brand shopping addiction.
Ai then reluctantly accepts the advice of her manager (Taishu Kase) to enter the adult video business on her 18th birthday, she signed a 5 picture contract where she'll get paid 1 million yen per movie.
She still exchange messages with Toshi, a young guy who works as a bartender/club DJ.
They eventually met and got together, everything was good and sweet in their passionate love affair although Toshi is extremely conscious of what others think. Things got complicated when Toshi found out that she's porn star.
For all the other gory details see the film for yourself.
"Platonic Sex" showed that not all love story can have a happy ending. Ai and Toshi are drawn to each other but ironically Ai feels more alone when she’s with him maybe because they are both emotionally disturbed. Both are haunted by their past and they cant fully support each other because of their own dilemna. I think that they're dilemna are self inflicted because they have an option to go on with their life, but this is easier said than done.
It is a sad film because on what happened on the main characters and the society that they live in. Ai's life revolves on her "work", endless shopping and her phone conversation with her friend - Toshi. When she hooked up with Toshi, she felt secured that she is not alone. But this is just an illusion because she just wants to cling to him to continue her hope - to live happy.
Sad as it maybe, the movie also portayed characters which gives hope to people who are in not so good position. Ai's agent who secretly supports children and a coworker hostess who turned out to be a strong single mother. There's a scene where she said sometimes she have the urge to stranggle her baby but her love for him gets in the way.
Don't let the movie title scare you "Platonic Sex" is not entirely about sex, its a great story about two people who are in a crossroad, it shows that life isn't perfect so we have to deal with it and continue living to find our own happiness.

I love Tuesday's episode with special guest Rico Blanco. I previously considered him as a good songwriter and a good performer, just second to Ely Buendia but after listening to him, my admiration increased by more than 100%.
Wow, as Mo Twister said, we have just experienced a performance by a genius.
Today's guest is opposition spokesperson, Atty Adel Tamano, whom I'll vote if he decides to run for any position. We need someone like him, brave new blood with fresh ideas.
I love it when Good Times invites politicians like Senator Chiz Escudero, Cayetano sibblings, I actually voted and believe on those three.

FYI. I once experienced travelling by bus in EDSA amidst a storm with pink and blue debris flying over the place. I wasn't suprised, those looks like something that can/should/would last for maximum of 1 year. How about investing in infrastructures?
Its amazing how proper color scheme and quality of materials can make a difference. Please refer to the image above or try to stroll around EDSA to see it for yourself.
I wish Metro Manila can be as classy as Ortigas Center.

For the past week my aunt have been having a marketing talk with me, trying to convince me to avail an iPhone. I really feel its absurd to own a 40k plus phone. The 2 main reason why she can't talk me into buying one is of course, I'll have to purchase it with my own money and I have a reliable phone & an 80 Gb iPod Classic so it will just be redundant owning that it gadget.
Today, I woke up with an urge to go to Greenhills to ask how much would I add to trade in my 8 month old Classic to a 16 Gb iTouch. I don't know what got in to me but my senses got the better of me. I stayed home and kept my hard earned money.
I might check out the stores on St Fracis tomorrow, though.

These days most of us remember heroes or influential people because of the streets named after them or there's a dedicated holiday. But what about the things they've done for the country and the freedom that we now enjoy?
Its a great idea that in commemoration of Ninoy, a former senator known for saying that "The Filipinos are worth dying for", the Aquino family launched a fashion line for statement T-shirts. They immortalized his popular line, his iconic glasses (to symbolize how to see our motherland from Ninoy's point of view) and his ala Che Guevarra photo printed in tees.
Even before this, Adidas had their controversial Philippine flag jacket and Nike's campaign for Manny Pacquiao "Ang Mamatay ng Dahil Sa Yo" (a line taken from the Philippine national anthem.)
This is a good start to promote love for the country especially in this generation where the only thing that matters is thy self.
I know this will sell like hotcakes, knowing how everyone keeps up with trends. For sure Quiapo stores will have their own cheaper version.
The next and bigger step is to promote the passion for nationalism. I can't wait for it to unfold.
Yes, what occurs in the next 24 hours is mundane - but in the best possible way.
Average moments are work of art.
The best part is that you can appreciate them as such.
Its a beautiful, normal day.
These days I only dare to stay in front of television to catch PBA games but today will be an exception since a. its PBA off season b. pay day is still days away so I decided to be a bum on a saturday.
2:30 Sports on TV at NBN 4
6:30 GMA7's Celebrity duets
7:30 GMA7's Bitoy's funniest videos
Ricky Lo's Funfare column featured Michael V who is on the cover of Reader's Digest. Bitoy is not hyped as the best comedian around but he's a talented and smart guy. His comedic performance was even applauded by Asian TV awards in 2004, 2005 & 2006. Way to go Michael V!

A perfect ending to their fairy tale conference.
Brgy. Ginebra Kings the Champions of the 2008 Fiesta Conference! I'll edit this when I get my senses back. I'm just too happy to function lol
Still on happy joy joy mode
A fairy tale ending for Barangay Ginebra Kings as they climbed up from a 0-5 start, 13 game winning streak, sweeping the quarters against Sta Lucia, the semis versus Redbull, booked the first finals slot then crawled to win an epic Game 7 to grab the 2008 Fiesta Cup Title. This is probably the most memorable and sweetest championship in the Ginebra renaissance, Menk-Helterbrand-Caguioa era because of the evident Never Say Die spirit amidsts everything they've faced this conferece - changing imports, new and recurring injuries! They are walking wounded but as Jayjay said, they are soldiers and only team USA can stop them, Rafi Reavis added. lol
This is Ginebra's 8th overall title and their 4th in Major Pain, Fast & the Furious era. Kudos to Air21, a young & hungry team. This is a team with a lot of potential especially with wingmen like Arwind Santos & Ranidel de Ocampo. I liked how Arwind played since his UAAP days, this will be a great but painful learning experience for them.
They are certainly a worthy opponent for the kings but my team have the experience, composure and crowd to boot! Almost 23,000 members of the baranggay trouped to the big dome yesterday, my only regret was I failed to get a ticket and watch the game live. I heard there was a lights off intro that wasn't shown again in TV! I just have to rant on the not so pleasing coverage of the finals, too bad the PBA finals got caught up in a station under transition.
I love Chris Alexander, the perfect import for the king who bagged the best import award. He fits the system and he's funny too with the toothpick and the antics.
This is one of the blessed year for the kings, the individual awards poured in and the elusive crown is OURS! Jayjay Helterbrand, the most consistent player in the conference, was named Best Player of the Conference. Along with his backcourt buddy Mark Caguioa, they join the Mythical first team for the first time. Mark Caguioa still managed to be the league's leading scorer, there was even a time when he led all including the imports in points per game average. Last night he might have only scored 13 points but he had crucial defensive stops on Arwind and important rebounds in the end game. MC47 showing other facets of his game!
Junthy Valenzuela is a very good addition to the team, he brings stability and leadership. Paul Artadi and Chris Pacana did their share to fill up Jayjay's shoes.
Major Pain is back! With Jayjay assigned as head cheerleader because of his injury and top scorer Mark playing hurt, Eric Menk delivers! It was Vintage Major pain especially in the third quarter when he dominated the post. He truly deserve the co-Finals MVP with Ronald Tubid. Speaking of Ronald, who I hate to the bones before he joined Ginebra, when almost all the guards where down with injuries, he opted to play even with an injury to provide the needed energy and defense for the Kings.
I have to say that I really like Coach Siot Tanquincen because he lead the kings to a back to back championship, then to another one last year but as an assistant coach. At first I was hesitant with coach Jong but then through the season, I've seen how he managed to combine Ginebra's known run and gun style with his defense oriented, deliberate game into one effective system. Congrats to coach and the rest of the team. He's so humble in victory and gave all the credit to his players, to their heart to win and even acknowledged the whole baranggay for the undying support in his short but sweet speech.
..and the rest of the team was always there, Sunday, Billy, Raffy, Alex, Mike contributing in their own ways.
Kudos to Brgy Ginebra, 'til next season!
Watch Ginebra's game 7 over again and the players interview. Minus 10 to TV5, there's no dugout interview! Ginebra Kings rules!

The kings had a bad 0-14 start but they slowly gained back their composure and managed to cut Air 21's game high lead 17 to 3 by the end of the first half.
In the third quarter its all Alexander the Great show, he scored 20 of his 37 points plus 24 rebounds for a career high performance. I liked what he said in his post game interview, he said that he loves the team so much that he need to step up his game for his injured teammates.
The kings managed to win without the fast & the furious. Jayjay is the team's cheerleader while Mark played limited minutes because of his tendinitis injury, in layman's term his knees are still hurting. Junthy had good contributions but was thrown out of the game due to a flagrant 1 and technical foul. Sunday fouled out, but he had good defense on Air21's guards. I really like the energy brought by Artadi, Pacana and Tubid. There was a point when I think Ginebra had too many guards but now they're all proving their worth. Another player worth mentioning is former MVP Eric Menk who had 10 points, maximizing the foul troubled Thomas.
Never say die Ginebra Kings! Let's win it on Wednesday!
Araneta's maximum capacity is 18,000 but 18,043 paying patrons came for the game with an amazing record of 2.5 million ticket sales!

It seems like everyone can come out with an album these days. Name it, from an actor, actress who wants to sing for a change, a has been celebrity, TV host, almost anyone especially those who can't even carry a tune.
This is what I imagine on how they make their instant album
1. find a willing singer/actor, host, celebrity who wants to sing for a change or use their face in the CD cover
2. signs a record deal,
3. choose his or her 12 favorite songs,
4. records it
5. and viola! We have an instant album!
Then we have this talented reality singing show winners who does steps 2-5! I mean, it feels like nobody cares/dares to come up with anything original these days.
The hard part is it will haunt you when you forgot your reliable iPod or mp3 player because most radio stations will happily play these songs. Imagine being stuck in traffic riding a taxi who tunes in a radio station that played the Tagalog version of Low, Bleeding Love, Umbrella, one after another. It felt like the driver owes me money and I don't have to pay at all!
-end rant mode-
Today, out of curiosity I watched TV5's (formerly ABC5) Lipgloss, a youth oriented drama that is very similar to “Gossip Girl.” In the pilot episode alone, I've seen the similarity of the storyline, rich kids in exclusive schools, living the life while streamed in the school’s unofficial website, for the benifit of the school nerds. Guess what? It also revolves on the love triangle of BFF Saab Magalona, other pretty girl(who actualy resembles Blake) and Rodjun Cruz(I used to watch him in 5 & up). Very Gossip Girl indeed.
Anyway, I wouldn't be surprised if amidst all these I'll find myself free on next saturday to watch the second episode, teen dramas are my guilty pleasure and Gossip Girl's second season wont be out until September. This show reminded me of my youth spent watching weekend teen afternoon series like TGIS, AnnaKarenina, Gimik, Tabing-ilog, Berks, Click :P
TV5 attempts to beef up their station by changing their name and programs. I sincerely hope they'll succeed to give ABS and GMA a run for their money. I miss those days when the unfriendly network rivalries do not exist and shows are not celebrity based. But I have to say that a. from the line up so far, I still don't see anything new, just recycled show concepts, just an opinion b. I'm pissed off with their bad PBA Finals coverage, it seems that they can't wait to finish the PBA season!

The game was closely fought all throughout but the game turning point was with 40 seconds remaining in the 4th quarter, Ginebra had a chance to tie the game but Alexander was called for a travelling violation while attempting to score. Great defense by Arwind Santos on the Spark who was held down to 7 points output, a far cry from his 25 per game average in the finals. No solid contribution from other guards aside from Paul Artadi.
Game 6 on sunday will test if Ginebra still have the Never Say Die attitude that they're known for. Guess what, they've come from a 0-5 start, completed a 13 games winning streak and now that they're on the finals, I don't think they'll give up that easily! Never Say Die spirit of Ginebra Kings lives on!

They started strong with a 10-2 run with import Chris Alexander starting early on offense. The express slowly but surely caught up in the game as the first quarter ended 19- 17, the Kings with 2 points lead.
Throughout the game, Alexander dominated by scoring inside and fishing for fouls along the way. Ronald Tubid is BACK from his injury, I miss his annoying sticky defense to the opponent's players. Mark Caguioa didn't have his usual numbers, he was averaging 24 points per game in the series, I think he had 15 but as long as they get the W its fine with me.
With Jayjay Helterbrand staying on the bench because of his injury, two guards stepped up with A games to fill the void left by Mr Fast. Great game from Chris Pacana and Paul Artadi, who contributed in offense and dished off assists to their teammates. Both of them were chosen as the co-players of the game.
Before the game, the 33rd Leo Awards was held and Ginebra's Mark Caguioa and Jayjay Helterbrand were included in the PBA Mythical first team. Wee! This solidify the fast and the furious' status as the best back court tandem in the PBA today! Haters eat your hearts out!
Individual awards are pouring but I'm sure the kings and the whole Brgy Ginebra would love to get the 2008 Fiesta Cup champsionship trophy more than those.
